Update 2: August 28, 2008. 3 kittens left!

We are happy to announce that 2 of the kittens have been adopted by Cecily's Mom. They are enjoying the wide open spaces, and ability to go outdoors. They've had their shots and are really happy. New photos are being added from the craigslist ad.

We have five kittens up for adoption. We had adopted a stray cat, and found out at her first vet visit she was to have kittens.

*Adopted by Mom. The brown cat is female, very sweet, loves to climb and loves to cuddle.

The black harlequin is female, very sweet, and a little full of herself!

The fist gray cat is male, playful and energized.

*Adopted by Justin and Cecily. The second gray cat is female, a total lap cat, ready to fall asleep with you at a moments notice!

*Adopted by Mom. The white cat is male, very fun and is the biggest eater of the group!

Update 1: July 14, 2008. Cats are doing Great!

We've decided to wait 8-10 weeks for adoption to make all of the kittens get adequate nursing. Also, 2 of the cats will be be adopted by family members. The Gray Male, and the Dark Harlequin. I'll try to update this as soon as possible to add new photos.

Dear friendly human,

Recently my fiancée and I were outside our apartment in Altadena California and heard a noise in the bushes. To our delight a rather thin looking cat was there looking on at us. She seemed afraid of the nearby traffic and weak. Being that we live next to a major street where people drive their cars at around 40 miles per hour or more, the danger she faced was critical. We decided to take her in. A little sandwich meat and milk convinced her we were not of evil intent, and so we carried her slowly upstairs.

She turned out to be very friendly and well behaved once inside. That weekend we combed the neighborhood looking for missing cat signs and found none. Judging by the look of her we knew she was a stray who wasn't missed much. We decided we would take responsibility for her permanently.

After about 3 days we took her to the vet for a checkup and to get spayed. As it would turn out, our little kitten was a grown up cat, WHO WAS PREGNANT! The doctor at this point gave us the grim choice of having her kittens aborted before they came to term. We agonized about this for a day and came to the conclusion that such an act is unethical. Since she was not our cat to begin with, and since she was in fact pregnant before she came into our lives, what right did we have to kill her offspring?

You can help

And here is where we need your help. Do you know of anybody who might need a little friend? How about a cute little kitten? We are willing to discuss adoption so long as the party will provide a good home and be kind and loving to the animal(s).

Adoption Time

Adoption will be available after 8-10 weeks of nursing by the mother
